"ACHTUNG BABY"
After "Rattle 'n' Hum" received a poor reception from many music critics, the band went away to "re-invent" themselves for the 1990's. "Acthung Baby" was the result. Much of it was recorded at Berlin's Hansa Ton Studios between November 1990 and March 1991, just after the reunification of the two Germanys. When the album was finally released in November 1991, it received a universal thumbs up from critics and fans alike. "Acthung Baby" went straight to the number 1 spot in the US album charts, following the success of the single "The Fly". |

Comments:
"Achtung Baby" was recorded at Hansa Studios in Berlin, Germany. U2 completely reinvented themselves musically as well as aesthetically and kept their popularity, eventhough ironically, they tried their best to stay away from their "Joshua Tree" and "Rattle n Hum" image.
U2 have been quoted as saying: "Acthung Baby" is the sound of four men chopping down "The Joshua Tree".
